Design shop to aid the foundation in efforts to end sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.
At ThoughtMatter, we believe in doing work worth doing, and in doing it well.
We’re constantly on the lookout for potential partners who share our views and beliefs. We’re always interested in involving ourselves with projects we’re passionate about.
We don’t simply create branding and assets for clients, or complete projects just to keep our lights on—we seek out opportunities to forge relationships and do important work.
That’s why we’re so excited to partner with the Joyful Heart Foundation, an organization founded by activist and actress Mariska Hargitay in 2004 that is pursuing a world free of sexual assault, domestic violence and child abuse.
To work with a client like the Joyful Heart Foundation is an amazing opportunity for us to focus on the importance of a cause we’re passionate about. It’s a cause we strongly believe in, especially in today’s climate, where the objectification of women remains so prevalent.
We’ve already begun work as the Joyful Heart Foundation’s branding agency of record, a partnership that came about after our Executive Director of Strategy, Jessie McGuire, served as part of the School of Visual Arts Masters in Branding program in spring 2016. McGuire began working with the organization on a rebranding project through the school’s Honors Program. Eventually it became clear the Joyful Heart Foundation was in need of a branding agency of record, and the foundation was interested in working with ThoughtMatter because of the value-driven work we pride ourselves on. “From the moment we were introduced to the team at ThoughtMatter, we were impressed by their creativity, energy, and commitment to Joyful Heart’s mission,” says Lisa Winjum, vice president of external affairs for the Joyful Heart Foundation. “Their work for other organizations moved and inspired us.”
As branding agency of record, we have the exciting opportunity and responsibility to collaborate with the foundation in driving its brand narrative, messaging, strategy and voice in ways that will support and amplify its initiatives. We’re also ensuring that the media developed and distributed for the brand aligns well with the brand itself in terms of creative thinking and strategy.
Additionally, we’re developing the 2017 Joyful Heart Foundation Gala invite and design system, along with a social campaign and supporting action site for the organization’s End The Backlog initiative, which focuses on eliminating the nation’s rape kit backlog.
“We believe ThoughtMatter is the ideal partner to ensure our brand motivates staff, inspires partners and uplifts supporters,” says Winjum. “We are honored to work with them on the next steps in our journey to position Joyful Heart and our initiatives for a bold, even brighter future.”
